On May 14th, Professor Chen Changming, Director of Visual Communication Design of Dayeh University, gives a lecture of <Interdisciplinary application of Visual Communication Design> to 40 Visual Communication Design students from SBS in room 218, Building 2. The lecture is based on 2 actual cases: Baby Pavilion of Shanghai China Welfare Institute and NTU Children’s Hospital. Dean Ma Xinyu and some teachers attend this lecture.

The lecture starts with the viewpoint of cross domain school. Chen Changming believes that the future is the combination of diverse knowledge. The students have to face the new questions, new creation and new values if they want to be creative. The school should be cross cutting and the studying is no longer confined just in school. In the applied design level, Design is regard as “Problem solution” and “Answer to Potential Opportunity”. No matter a new market or a new chance, the 2 concepts are always related to business. Professor Chen describes the possibility of Cross-Cutting and shares the design modes of “Baby Pavilion of Shanghai CWI” and “NTU Children’s Hospital” with the students.
