Headed by President Zhu Guohong, SBS delegation recently visits Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management (EAHM) to develop more global cooperative opportunities. The delegation consists of Director of President Office, Hou Liyu, Director of Students’ Affairs Department, Huang Jianchang, Director of Personnel Department, Fan Mingyao, Deputy Director of International Affairs Department, Yang Bing, and Deputy Secretary of Faculty of Business and Economy, Xu Yingying.
EAHM is located in Dubai, the economic center of the United Arab Emirates. The world’s top Luxury Hotel Management School, EAHM, is established by Jumeirah Group, which owns the famous Burj AI-Arab. EAHM is always on a mission to “cultivating the future leaders of tourism and hospitality management”. As a subsidiary of Jumeirah Group, the leader of Hotel Business, EAHM is strongly supported by the group. All the wonderful internships, the wild net of social contacts, and the foreseeable high-paying jobs, which is offered by Jumeirah, are making EAHM one of the best Hotel Management Academies in the world. Of course, the very unique advantage of locality also improves the students’ employment rate.
Besides, EAHM initiates academic exchange and cooperation with the most world famous Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne (EHL) in its early years, which powerfully provides for the quality of education as well.
SBS has signed a Memo of Cooperation with EAHM in 2015. This time, the delegation visits Dean of EAHM, Dr. Stuart Jaucey and Regional General Manager of Jumeriah of Dubai, Ms. Judy Hou. The two colleges have a further discussion of the trends of the Faculty of Hotel Management, the advantages of the school and Hotel Business, and the specific ideas of the future Co-run Hotel Management School, such as site selection and approaches to cooperation. Ms. Hou intends to inspect for the site selection in Shanghai in the middle of 2016 and wants to speed up this process.


Furthermore, they also talk about the students and teachers exchange plans. SBS has finished the students’ selection for a 3-month study in EAHM in the second half of 2016. Beside of the Talent Revolving Program (inviting EAHM professors to SBS), SBS also wants to sent more teachers to have short term exchanges in EHAM.

Led by Mr. Ashil Sandeep Shah, Director of Administration, SBS delegation has a campus tour in EAHM and they are impressed the rigorous scholarship and the humanity campus culture. During the tour, the delegation has some conversation with the Chinese students to know their studying and living conditions in EAHM. The students are full of praise for the curriculums, especially for the wild opportunities of internship and practical training.
