2016 September 4 is the registration day for SBS freshman. Nearly 2000 students from all over the country walk into Fengpu Campus to start their new journeys in SBS.

On the registration day, President Zhu Guohong and the heads of relative departments go to visit the teachers and new students. At the dorm of Hotel Management, they encourage the new students to make persistent efforts in the coming semester. They ask questions about the homeland of new students of Economic and Financial and hope the students will treasure their friendships in college. President Zhu visits the registration offices of Faculty of Management, Economic and Finance, Business, Hotel Management, Art and Design, Information and Computer, EastMoney Media and Management, Art and Law. He has conversations with the freshman’s parents and makes introductions in Faculty of Business and Faculty of Information and Computer. He says, all the time SBS devotes itself to offer the students a safe and comfortable situation to study and live. SBS always responds to the students’ demands. In the last few years, SBS enhances the living conditions of Foods, Internet, Bathing and so on. The AC will be all set in the end of this year. President Zhu also mentions, SBS has increased the budget of sports facilities to enhance the students’ physical constitution and encourage the students to walk out the dorm. Deputy Party Secretary, Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission, Lou Wengao, Deputy Party Secretary, Deputy President, Weng Dewei, Deputy President, Zhong Youwei, Deputy President, Chen Jianfeng, also provide field guidance at the registration offices.

The work of welcoming is warm, orderly, and convenient. The indication sign and welcome banner are set in advance. The dorms are early opened to the freshmen. All the relative departments are gathered in the lobby of Graphic&Text Building to help the students with the problems of Green Path, Health Insurance, Internet, and Tuition Fee. Director of Finance Department, Teacher Hu, finds the owner of lost bankcard through Wechat.
In the registration point of each faculty, the freshmen can finish their registration procedure just with scanning the enrollment letter or ID card. The advantage of “Smart Campus” is obvious. The students can get all the information of registration via several digital channels. The staffs also can capture the real-time data through “i上商”. The digitalization of campus information does provide convenience for the freshmen.

As usual, the 9 faculties welcome the freshmen independently. Faculty of Business and Economic prepares a “Mobile Selfie Station” and cakes to warmly welcome the freshmen. Faculty of Foreign Language gathers a lot of seniors to welcome the new students, which is separated into 3 teams: English, Japanese, and Korea. Faculty of Management suggests the freshmen to write a letter to the future self 4 years from now. The management staffs of each faculty are there for answering the questions of students’ parents.
From 7 AM, the freshmen trickled arrive to SBS, when the senior volunteers have already prepared to welcome them at the school gate. Most of them never met before, but through the internet, they have chatted with each other for a while. During the summer, the seniors have already told the freshmen about lots of information about SBS, about the registration day. The Senior System is one of SBS’s traditions. It not only helps the freshmen to know the school well, but also passes the positive energy from senior to the new students. it’s a virtuous circle of mutual improvement.

Up to September 4, 1845 freshmen, who come from 23 provinces, have registered in SBS. (279 students in Faculty of Business and Economic, 243 students in Faculty of Information and Computer, 234 students in Faculty of Finance, 234 students in Faculty of Art and Design, 233 students in Faculty of Hotel Management, 230 students in Faculty of Management, 225 students in Faculty of Foreign Language, 101 students in Faculty of Art and Law, 71 students in Faculty of Eastmoney Media and Management.)
