On the morning of Apr. 27th, the Start Meeting of the 3rd China College Students “Internet +” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Shanghai Area was held in Tongji University. SBS Vice President Chen Jianfeng, Deputy Director Xiong Ping’an of Department of Academic Affairs, Deputy Director Xia Huanlong of “Industry-Academics” Cooperation and Practice Education Office, and teacher representatives attended the meeting.
According to the report, China College Students “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition aims at further implementing the comprehensive reform of higher education, incite the creativity of college students, cultivate the leaders in “mass entrepreneurship and mass innovation”, encourage the transformation of competition achievements and the close integration of industry, academics, research, and utilization, encourage the formation of new norm in the “Internet +” era, and serve the economy for its quality and efficiency improvement, as well as its upgrading. It also wishes to encourage the entrepreneurship through innovation, improve employment through entrepreneurship, and thus improve the employment and entrepreneurship quality of college graduates.
The Shanghai Area competition for the 3rd China College Students “Internet +” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is arranged between April and September. It is hosted by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, sponsored by Tongji University, and themed by “Fight in the era of ‘Internet +’, enlarge the population of entrepreneurship and innovation”. The competition will include college-level preliminary round and city-level secondary round.
Vice President Chen Jianfeng made an instruction on implementing the spirit of competition. He indicated that SBS should pay great attention to the competition, and take it as an initiative for actively serving the national and city strategy of “innovation drives development”, and for deepening the entrepreneurship education reform in colleges. SBS should also use the competition as an initiative for the improvement of teaching, academics, reform, and innovation. SBS should pay close attention to the cultivation plan, course system, teaching methods, system innovation, and practices, and create a cultural environment of innovation and entrepreneurship that features daring to be the first, fearless to risks, and tolerant to failures. According to the requirements of the competition, SBS should research and design a plan for school-level preliminary round, organize the competition with care, and select outstanding project to participate in the city-level secondary round and even national level final round competition on behalf of SBS.
