On the morning of May 15^th, Vice Director Chen Huabei of State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) Division of Education, Science, and Culture Experts came to SBS for investigation. Vice President He Ying attended the symposium for investigation, Shao Xiaoping of Department of Human Resources and Yang Bing of Department of International Communication also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, President He introduced the features and advantages of SBS, reported the relevant projects of SBS on oversea talent attraction, including the outstanding contribution made by oversea faculties and “revolving door for talents” project on the construction of key academic majors, such as the cultivation of Youth Research Team by Professor Zhou Kun of SBS College of Finance and Economics, and CFA certification. President He expected more oversea high-end talents to join the SBS team. Vice Director Chen introduced to the participants of the meeting about the “Talent Attraction Project for Innovation of Higher Education Institutions” (aka “111 Project”). The project aims at promoting the process of constructing world-class universities among higher education institutions of China and is implemented jointly by PRC Ministry of Education and SAFEA since 2005. “111” stands for the plan to invite 1000 professionals and scholars from the top 100 oversea universities and research institutions to set up 100 bases in China, which aims at promoting the development and innovation of different academic majors. As of now, some 200 bases have been established around the country. Then, Director Chen introduced the requirement and process for application of the project. He also advised SBS to set up more connection with foreign institutions for academic and student exchange, attend more foreign talent communication events, and strive for more high-level oversea talent cooperation projects. Department of Human Resources and Department of International Communication then inquired about introduction of oversea faculty to Director Chen. In the end, Director Chen wishes that SBS can attach great importance to the attraction of oversea talents, and strive for achievements in the application of high-level talent attraction projects.
