At his speech, Vice President Chen Jianfeng fully recognized the fruitful achievements obtained by young teachers of SBS during the competition for their development. And he made three expectations on the youth teachers of SBS, i.e. to persist on three subjects. The first is to persist on the academics and focus on the students. The second is to persist on the in-depth reform of teaching and improve the level of teaching. And the third is to persist on moral education, encourage the student development in all perspectives. He stressed that the teachers should consciously practice moral education in an artful manner. Teachers should include the education of failures, diligence, team spirit, and professional ethics in to the teaching, improve the width and depth of course materials, thus realize moral education in courses, and cultivate talents by all faculties, in all processes, and in all dimensions.

Professor Lu Fang of Fudan University, who has participated in the competition multiple times as a judge, has a strong feeling about it. He first gave high evaluation on the innovation of teaching models and the improvement of teaching skills of the teachers participating in the competition. He pointed out that, talent cultivation is the core objective of universities. The cultivation of first class talent should be based on the cultivation of first class teaching teams. Youth teachers should follow the trend of the era and bravely explore new teaching models, thus better put students in the center of teaching, and focus on the cultivation of learning capabilities, and in this way enable the students to learn more and cultivate more innovative talents for the society. In the end, he wished that SBS can keep holding such teaching competition and make a tradition, so as to persist on the innovation in teaching as well as the responsibility to students.

More than 200 faculties and students from relevant departments and colleges of SBS viewed the competition. As of now, SBS Competition of Youth Teachers’ Basic Teaching Skills has been held for 7 times, and a total of 552 teachers have participated in it. The competition is an important measure of SBS implementing the comprehensive reform, a major activity enhancing the construction of faculty team, and an overall check on the spirits and mentalities of SBS youth teachers. For the youth teachers of SBS, the competition is a chance for them to check their teaching skills, a stage to showcase their skills, and a platform for them to learn from and encourage each other.

The cultivation of youth teachers has always been a crucial point of SBS work. Cultivation of outstanding business talents requires the construction of faculty team as its prerequisite. SBS, closely combining itself with the development of regional economics, will integrate educational resources of the university with regional resources, offer more practice and development opportunities to the youth teachers, and encourage more youth teachers to become outstanding educational workers with both good standings in both academics and morality.
