On June 8, a delegation led by Vice President of the University of Waikato Alister Jones, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Program Department Mu Lan, Professor Anna Strutt at the Hospitality Management School, Director of the New Zealand Bailie Training Base Chen Jinming, and Director Assistant Yu Miao, visited our school for exchange. The delegation was warmly received by Chen Jianfeng, Vice President of our school. Also present at the meeting were relevant leaders from the Office of International Exchange, the Faculty of International Education, the College of Shanghai Lausanne Hospitality Management, the Faculty of Business Administration, the Faculty of Finance, etc.
Accompanied by relevant personnel from the Faculty of International Education, our foreign guests visited the construction site of the Caobao Road Campus, listened to introduction about the future development plan and construction situation of the new campus, and highly praised the planning and construction progress of the new campus, saying that they were looking forward to in-depth and extensive exchanges and cooperation in the future.
Later the two sides held a symposium at the conference room #1401 at Xuhui campus. At the meeting, Chen Jianfeng delivered a speech on behalf of the school, warmly welcoming the delegation led by Alister Jones, Vice President of the University of Waikato, and introduced the development of our school.
Alister Jones and Mu Lan respectively introduced the basic situations of their institutions, and expressed their willingness to strengthen cooperation with our school in establishing academic English learning centers, organizing teacher-student exchanges, conducting college-Bachelor-Master-Doctor connections, launching scientific research cooperation, and building an integrated talent training chain.
The two sides discussed and confirmed the signing of the cooperation agreement, and engaged in in-depth discussions on programs such as student exchange and the establishment of academic English learning centers.
Founded in 1964, the University of Waikato is one of the eight public university funded by the New Zealand government, with more than 12,500 current students (including more than 2,200 international students). The University of Waikato is known for its expertise in law, management, computer science, natural science, and education. Its School of Management has successfully passed certification by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), and the Association of MBAs (AMBA).
