On the theme of grandfather's memories, the designer was inspired by a “souvenir medal for the war to resist U.S. aggression and aid North Korea” which was treasured his family, and the souvenir medal once belonged to his grandfather, and now it became a bond between different generations for the inheritance of patriotic spirit. The main body of the work is comprised of a hollowed shell and UV colored baseboard. The hollowed shell depicted grandfather’s facial contour when he retired from office and toiled on the field, while the face colored with UV reminded designer of those fantastic stories that his grandfather once told him, and all of these memories were still quite vivid in the brain of the designer. As a young man in the New Era, the designer was motivated to make greater contribution for national prosperity and strength as well as national rejuvenation.
