Visit of University of Oklahoma of America

In the morning of June 5, He Ying, vice president, received Ben K. Goh, assistant dean of College of Arts and Science and dean of College of Hotel and Tourism Management of University of Oklahoma, and Miao Li, associate dean of College of Hotel and Tourism Management. Both sides held conference about exchanges and cooperation between the teachers and students of the two universities. Jiang Hong, dean of School of Hotel Management and Zhang Yifei, associate dean, and full-time teachers of School of Hotel Management accompanied and received them.

Vice president He introduced school-running characteristics and professional advantage of Shanghai Business School to the attendees at the meeting and made in-depth exchanges with the American side as to the potentials of cooperation. By referring to the Educational Philosophy of university, that is, “Established on Commerce and Oriented at Application”, vice president He started from the development orientation of the university and interpreted the fruitful achievements made by the university through international cooperation. There are many similarities between our School of Hotel Management and the opposite university in terms of major setup, which may lay a good foundation for both sides. It was hoped that the cooperation between two universities would be strengthened in terms of communications and exchanges of students at school, teacher training, students’ overseas internship and scientific research cooperation. 

Goh, dean of College of Hotel and Tourism Management of University of Oklahoma highly recognized the international school-running orientation of our school and introduced the possibilities of cooperation between two sides in terms of students’ education and internship, scientific research cooperation and teacher training.

Finally, both sides exchanged gifts. through this conference, a new field of cooperation between University of Oklahoma and our school had been initiated, which reinforced the connotation and objectives of international cooperation.
