On October 10, a delegation comprising teachers and students of Dr. Buhmann Schule, a total of 20 persons, arrived at our school for communication and visit, and they would like to know more about school-running characteristics and academic atmosphere in SBS and experience Chinese Culture.

At 10:00 AM, teachers of SBS and members of International Communication Association received the visiting teachers and students at the north gate. First, Teacher Dai Ying, Associate Dean of International Education College, attended the meeting held in classroom 503, Training Building, and Teacher Zeng Na from International Education College, introduced school profile, international students’ study programs, and current international students for the present teachers and students, so that the visiting teachers and students can understand that the school has attached great importance to the education of international students. Later, on the theme of “Why is knowledge about real estate financing important?”, Teacher Zheng Minrong from School of Hotel Management provided an engaging and interesting trial class for the visiting students in English, and the students had the opportunity to experience the English teaching in our school.

When the class was over, Chinese and foreign teachers and students had lunch together on the third floor of school canteen, and they introduced each other and talked merrily. They spent a happy time with each other during the lunch. Later, teachers and students of Dr. Buhmann Schule visited international students’ dormitory of SBS, and they extended greetings to and talked with German international students of our school.

When they strolled around the school, they also visited a lot of facilities such as playground, gym, basketball court and Training Building and so on, and they also enjoyed the natural environment such as Swan Lake etc. Besides, they took group photo by the lakeside.

After the tour, they went to tea room for cultural activities, and members of Tea Art Society brewed tea for the visiting teachers and students and introduced Chinese tea culture for them. At the same time, members of Folk Music Society played Hulusi and erhu, two Chinese traditional musical instruments for them, and members of Interchange Association of Han Chinese Clothing performed Dance of the Han nationality, and students from Xinjiang performed Xinjiang dance with minority characteristics for the guests to show them colorful student life and diverse club culture at the campus, and brilliant culture of Chinese nation, extensive and profound Chinese traditional culture.

To let German students actually experience the Chinese traditional culture, members of Society of Han Chinese Clothing dressed them in Chinese traditional costume and taught them the dance of traditional Han style to the classical music. Chinese and German students talked with each other merrily and joyfully and they also shared their feelings about Chinese traditional culture.

Finally, they took group photo at the north gate, and Chinese teachers and students bade farewell with the teachers and students of Dr. Buhmann Schule. The happy and transient experience in the autumn wind will become a forever memory.

The visit of teachers and students of Dr. Buhmann Schule not only opens a window for the communication of two institutes, but also constitutes a very good basis for cooperation on staff and student exchange programs between two institutes and creates possibilities of cooperation opportunities. Through the meeting, German teachers and students have gained better understanding of characteristics of our school in aspects of school-running and club activity etc.; moreover, Chinese and German students have gained deeper understanding and appreciation for the culture of the other side, and the extensive and profound traditional culture of Chinese nation is disseminated.
