Recently, Colourful Contrast, an International Great Masters’ Workshop and Camp of Silver Clay Design and Production, ended successfully as a college students’ innovation and start-up project of Shanghai Business School in 2019. The ceremony was held on the first floor of Comprehensive Arts Center at Fengxian Campus.

Vice-president He Ying and Nakayama Etsuko were appreciating the students’ works.

The current session of workshop and camp was jointly held by School of Art and Design of Shanghai Business School and Aida Chemical Industry Joint-Stock Company as before. Nakayama Etsuko, Member of Japanese Jewelry Design Association, Full-time Professor of Aida Silver Clay Club and Supervisor of Special Research Department of Aida Silver Clay Workshop served as the supervisor and it was the third time that she took the post. She provided 25 students whom are specially selected by our school with an intense training which lasted for 10 days, and some of excellent students’ works were selected and participated in the 16^th Competition of International Silver Clay Works, which was sponsored by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology(MEXT) and held on September 2019 in Tokyo, Japan. 

Leaders from Office of Academic Affairs and School of Art and Design visited the camp and provided guidance

After 10 days of hard working, 25 students majored in Attires and Costumes Design from School of Art and Design had completed nearly 100 pieces of works. In the closing ceremony, Duan Baomei, Deputy Director from Office of Academic Affairs of Shanghai Business School, Chu Yanjie, Associate Dean of School of Art and Design, Lu Yan, Head of Attires and Costumes Design Department and teacher Chen Rui et. Al. were present at the ceremony and delivered speech. They recognized the achievements that the students have made during the past 10 days, and they hoped that the students would make persistent efforts and apply their skills to more fields by reciting the saying of “you will surely make achievement if you hold on straight to the end”. 

Teachers and students smiled joyfully in the closing ceremony.

The Workshop and camp continued to provide students with opportunity to have external exchange and learning, which not only cultivated their professional skill broaden their vision, but also further improve their design thinking and overall creativity. In future, the students would keep moving on, polish and give full play to the skills that they have learned during the 10 days, improve the quality of work by using fine craftsmanship, stay true to the mission and chase their dreams!
