"CCISTC Scientific Research Registration Program" Student Symposium Successfully Held

2023-04-23

To enhance the academic and research cooperation abilities of our students in key disciplines, expand their international perspectives, and build an international exchange platform, our school organized the “CCISTC Scientific Research Registration Program for International Exchange”. On April 18, 2023, the Office of International Exchange held a “CCISTC Scientific Research Registration Program” student symposium, with the purposes of further understanding the effectiveness of the program, better promoting cooperation between departments, optimizing process management, and innovating. The symposium was presided over by Zhang Xiaoxiao of the Office of International Exchange, and 27 students from secondary level faculties participated in the symposium.

At the symposium, Guan Wudi from the Faculty of Professional Finance &Accountancy and Tang Jie from the Faculty of Hospitality Management delivered speeches as representatives. They stated that the program relied on the online teaching platform of the University of Cambridge, and that courses would be taught under the program by new methods in the forms of Workshop, Lecture, and Supervision. In teaching, Cambridge teachers, by combining their research fields with students' research interests, guided students to plan topic selection using heuristic teaching methods, and to reflect on the purpose, significance, and methods of scientific research. They also provided comprehensive guidance in terms of the concepts and theories of research, the establishment of research problems, the collection and analysis of data, and the methods of systematic evaluation, etc. In class, students could communicate and exchange ideas with the representatives of Cambridge teachers and students and other students from different colleges and universities in China. The teaching atmosphere was enthusiastic, and the results were significant. At the symposium, students expressed their gratitude to the school for providing the opportunity to enhance their international cooperation ability and literacy, and offered their advice and suggestions on the planning and implementation of students' overseas exchange programs and the construction of the school's international atmosphere. They expressed the hope that continuous communication and exchanges would be maintained with teachers and students from other domestic colleges and universities in certain ways after the program ends. It was also suggested that the school provide more information about international exchanges and overseas study, regularly hold lectures on overseas study, and set up a "fourth space" exchange venue with an international atmosphere. The Office of International Exchange will further improve its work measures, expand international exchange channels, and promote the construction of specialties and disciplines.
