On the morning of October 31, the closing ceremony for “2019 Seminar on Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Developing Countries”, which was sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of P.R.C. and organized by Training Base of International Commerce Officers (Shanghai) of our school, was held in Room 1401, teaching building, Xuhui Campus. Li Zhen, Deputy Director from Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and Chen Wei, Associate Dean of School of Continuing Education, were present and he delivered speeches, and conferred course-completion certificates to the trainees.

There are 45 trainees taking part in “2019 Seminar on Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Developing Countries” and they are from 18 countries including Antigua and Barbuda, ASEAN, Azerbaijan, Bosna and Hercegovina, Cambodia, Chile, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Panama, Romania, Surinam, Turkey and Zambia.

During the seminar, experts from Shanghai Science and Technology Committee, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Shanghai Chengtou Group Corporation and Technology Art Education Center of Shanghai etc. have made deep discussion and exchanges on a number of subjects such as “scientific and technological innovation policies in China”, “brief introduction of scientific & technological finance and government investment guidance fund”, “education supporting scientific and technological innovation (case study of Shanghai)”, “new pattern of science and technology in the era of artificial intelligence” and “exploration and practice of construction of innovative urban ecological system” and so on; the trainees have visited Kr Space, Xiao-i, Canature Environmental Products Co., Ltd and Shanghai headquarters of Baidu. Besides, all the trainees have been to Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province and Shenzheng City, Guangdong Province for investigation and they visit Nanjing Legend Biotech Co., Ltd., Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub and Skyworth Group Co., Ltd. and other units. By visiting different cities in China, trainees gain deeper understanding of the fundamental realities of China and the research achievement and practical experience that China has made in the field of scientific and technological innovation as well as entrepreneurship.

Trainees highly appreciated the training opportunity and highly praised the training result of the seminar. When delivering speech, Mr. Emmanuel Kolawole, representative of trainees from Nigeria, said, during the seminar, a series of courses covering the outcomes of a variety of innovations and reforms in China and the entrepreneurship policies issued by the governments etc. were quite thought-provoking, inspiring and encouraging. He stressed that, he would let everyone that he understands the essence of science and technology development in China by talking to them, so that he could share the truth of innovative development with his countrymen, regardless of their age, social status, political parties and groups or religious belief. Finally, he said that, although he could not bear the names of all the trainees in mind, the trainees of the seminar would surely miss each other, and he hoped that, everyone went back home in an atmosphere of love, happiness and peace, and he expected good news from other trainees in their life about their success, progress and triumph.
