2018-12-18

On December 14, Dr. Richard Nader, Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Long Island University visited our school and talked over the cooperative project of two parties. International Exchange Office and Cooperation and Marketing Department of Hotel Management College participated in the meeting.

At the meeting, Yu Yiwen of International Exchange Office reviewed the existing cooperative project of two parties and proposed turning the project of summer camp into a long-term project. Professor Zhou Yong of Marketing Department raised doubts and questions about visa application, tuition fee and language, and Doctor Rick answered these questions one by one. He pointed out that, it would improve the success rate of visa interview by accepting necessary training and the tuition fee can be reduced or covered by applying for scholarship; besides, there is a language school designed to improve language proficiency of students in Long Island University. Chi Lihua proposed a cooperation method called 3+2, that is, after the student have completed three years of academic study in Shanghai Business School, he/she may go to Long Island University learning language while accepting the seniors’ courses, and after he finished internship and graduation thesis, he may proceed to the degree of MDA (Master of Data Analysis) in Long Island University. Professor Rick agreed with her and promised that he would promote the project.

After the meeting, the two parties exchanged contact information. To help the students to adapt to the academic study in US, a teacher of Marketing Department proposed that the credit hours should be admitted by both sides from the start of the project so that the students may accept some of courses provided by Long Island University in the first term of the third years in Shanghai.
