Lately, the delegation of Glion Institute of Higher Education, a total of five representatives led by Mrs. Georgette Davey, Executive Director and President, visited our school, and exchanged opinions on the promotion of in-depth cooperation between two institutes, and He Ying, Vice-President of our school and Jiang Hong, Dean of School of Hotel Management attended the meeting. Two institutes have signed Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in June 2018, and both parties have made substantive negotiations on issues such as Student’s 2+2 Program and Master's Program etc. in the conference, which suggests that the cooperation between these two institutes has entered a new period, and it is also an important progress towards the targets of construction of first-class undergraduate programs. 

After the meeting, the delegation led by Georgette Davey had held teach-ins in Fengpu Campus and Gonghexinlu Campus of our school as well as Shanghai Nanhu Vocational School, and the teach-ins were attended by the hotel management majors. Glion Institute of Higher Education and its campus facilities, professional curriculum and employment opportunity etc., were introduced in details in the tech-ins. The students warmly responded to the contents of tech-ins; Shirley, official representative of Glion, and Michelle Li, alumnus of Glion and Assistant Vice-President of Rosewood Hotel Group responsible for enterprises business development, answered questions raised by the students. After the tech-ins, the delegation led by Georgette Davey interviewed some students interested in 2+2 Program and Master Degree's Course. In recent years, Department of Hotel Management, Campus of Gonghexinlu and Shanghai Nanhu Vocational School have made active exploration in aspects of reform and innovation practices of higher vocational education and training mode of high-ranking and medium-ranking talent, with an aim to train more applied talents and skilled talents through joint-education based on the project radiation.

On March 30, Glion Institute of Higher Education and Les Roches Jin Jiang International Hotel Management College jointly held special student’s premiere in Kangmu Society, Hengshan Road, and nearly 100 persons, including Presidents of two institutes, representatives of hotel management groups and teachers and students, attended the premiere. Li Mengyue, a Hotel Management major of our school and one of national top 10 contestants in the 45^th Skills Contest (restaurant service) was invited to demonstrate the table-setting for western cuisine in the activity, which was praised by all the audience. 

In 1962, Glion Institute of Higher Education was founded in Montreux, Switzerland, and its predecessor is Hotel Bellevue. After more than 50 years of development, it becomes famous in the world and one of pioneers in the hotel education; currently, it is one of three major schools of hotel management in the world. Department of Hotel Management will take the cooperation and exchange between two institutes as an opportunity and constantly promote the specialty development to further construct a world-class undergraduate education institute with Chinese characteristics.
