School of Management Talked over Project Cooperation with Chinese Representatives of University of Canterbury

To promote the development of teachers and students, expand the communication channels, and establish new landmark for the project cooperation, Yi Ming, General Party Branch Secretary of School of Management, Cao Jing, Department Head, Cao Jiantao, Di Rong, Teacher Representatives, etc., held a meeting with Xie Jun and Zhang Fan, Chinese Project Managers of University of Canterbury, and discussed about issues such as in-depth communication, cooperation and development of teachers and students of two institutes. 

At the beginning of meeting, Xie Jun reviewed the fruitful achievement that they have made in the last student’s short-term exchange program during winter holiday; the students of Shanghai Business School made excellent performance, and three students, that is, Huang Chengyue, Lu Jieying and Li Mengtin, did a good job and they were among top 6 in the final round of “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Report and Defense”; they competed with the teams and representatives from Peking University and Beihang University on the same stage, and they have impressed Mr. Zhai Jianjun, Education Consul of Consulate General stationed in Christchurch, a lot. At the same time, he gave detailed introduction of cooperative project in the future, including “3+1+1” combined bachelor’s and master’s degree program, “4+1”direct promotion to master's program, Innovation And Entrepreneurship Project “Short Course” in winter holiday etc. jointed provided by University of Canterbury of New Zealand, from different aspects including project overview, project procedure, application requirement, term of application, fees, consultations on application and project advantages and so on. 

Scene of Negotiation

In the meeting, Department Head and professional teachers exchanged opinions with Project Managers on specific major setup, credit hour transfer, practical supervision on student's graduation design, graduation thesis defense, trans-disciplinary advanced studies and assessment requirement, coverage of scholarship and so on. Yi Ming pointed out that, on the basis of respect and esteem for the framework agreement, both parties should make great efforts to develop content and form of cooperative project, and promote the communication and further cooperation between teachers and students of two institutes by adopting different forms such as discipline competition, academic conference, communication and training, Project investigation, training mode discussion and so on, so as to seek common development of teachers and students of two institutes.
