Seminar on Comprehensive Infrastructure Management for Malawi 2019 was Completed Successfully

On October 25, the closing ceremony for “Seminar on Comprehensive Infrastructure Management for Malawi 2019”, which was sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of P.R.C. and organized by Training Base of International Commerce Officers (Shanghai) of our school, was held in Room 1401, teaching building, Xuhui Campus. Liu Beimin, Deputy Director from Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and Chen Wei, Associate Dean of School of Continuing Education, were present and he delivered speeches, and conferred course-completion certificates to the trainees.

There are a total of 17 trainees of “Seminar on Comprehensive Infrastructure Management for Malawi 2019”, and they are from units such as Local Rural Development Department, Ministry of Agricultural Irrigation and Water Resources, Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Territories, Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy Exploitation and Ministry of Education etc. Lectures such as “Planning and Management of Water Resources”, “Overall Municipal Planning and Implementation of Shanghai”, “Design and Construction Technique of Urban Road”, “Green Buildings and Construction” etc. were given in the seminar, and the trainees had visited Tunnel Science & Technology Museum, Meng-Qing Hall (Suzhou Creek Industrial Civilization Museum), Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, Shanghai Tower, Shanghai Company of China Telecom, The First Research Institute of Telecommunications Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Huancheng Renewable Energy Co., Ltd. and Jiangqiang Household Waste Incineration Plant for visit and inspection, they also visited Chengdu and Dujiangyan, Sichuan Province and Chongqing so that the trainees have deep understanding of the fundamental realities of China and the research achievement and practical experience in terms of infrastructure planning and construction in China.


Trainees highly appreciated the training opportunity and highly praised the training result of the seminar. Samba Sarah Michongwe, Engineering and Property Manager from Ministry of Education, Malawi, said, on behalf of trainees, that besides gaining new knowledge about the infrastructure management, they have actually witnessed the social and economic transition in China, and Chinese experience brings hopes and references to their countries. She hopes to share and spread the knowledge that she has learned in China at work when she goes back, to further promote the economic reform in Malawi and facilitate the national development.
