Five training courses opened in July, which include “Training Courses for Infrastructure Planning and Construction in French-speaking Countries in Africa of 2019” ,“Training Courses for Infrastructure Planning and Construction in Portuguese-speaking countries of 2019”, “Training Courses for Currency and Banking Management in Latin American Countries and Caribbean States of 2019”, “Training Courses for Currency and Banking Management in Bangladesh of 2019” and “Training Courses for Public Financial Management in Developing Countries of 2019”, are sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of P.R.C. and organized by Training Base of International Commerce Officers of Commercial Department of our school(Shanghai) and completed by holding closing ceremonies in the morning of August 5, in the afternoon of August 5, in the afternoon of August 6, in the afternoon of August 7 and in the afternoon of August 8, respectively, in the room 1401 in the teaching building at the Xuhui Campus. Li Zhen, Deputy Director of Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, attended the closing ceremonies for the first two training programs, while Liu Beimin, Deputy Director of Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, attended the closing ceremonies for the next three training programs.

A total of 127 officials from 32 countries have participated in these five training courses. We have made thorough preparation for these five training courses. During the courses, based on different training subjects, we have combined theoretical study with experiential learning in a dynamic way. On the one hand, we have arranged related special lectures and invited experts and scholars from government agency, colleges and universities, scientific research institution and well-known enterprises to the lectures where the trainees and officers have opportunities to have in-depth discussions and communication with them; on the other hand, we also have arranged on-the-spot investigation and study for the trainees and officers in Cities other than Shanghai, so that they would have a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the fundamental realities of China and China’s research achievement and practical experience in related domain.

There were many training programs in July, during which a lot of unexpected events took place. The staff of training base of our school had a sense of risk and responsibility, and they formulated contingency plan for the unexpected events, and had responded to and handled several incidents, such as a trainee from Burkina Faso with massive haemorrhage caused by myoma of uterus, and a trainee from Liberia with pneumonia and so on. With their efforts, the training programs are implemented successfully. Next, our school are going to handle six foreign assistance training projects simultaneously in August.
