The autumn comes, and the gingko trees add golden hue to Fengpu Campus where people can smell the strong fragrance of orange osmanthus. When the whole nation is celebrating the National Day and the 70^th birthday of motherland, on September 30, Zhang Chengyi, an excellent host of the team and student from School of Hotel Management, writes the draft for and hosts the program of “Happy Birthday, China!”, expressing her infinite affection and sincere blessings to the motherland.

Currently, Zhang Chengyi is studying in US. When she heard that the team (“I am the Host Today”) was going to publish the “Special Issue for the National Day”, she could hardly contain her excitement. Although she was living in the other side of the ocean, she hoped to all do her bit to express feelings with her voice, give best wishes to her motherland and wish China thriving and prosperous, strong and harmonious future. She wrote, “As a Chinese student studying abroad, I am holding more deep-rooted feelings for my motherland. I love my country. I love the Five-starred Flag.” As a student studying far away from home, her love and esteem for the Five-Starred Red Flag and her nostalgia for the motherland could be read between the lines.

The team of “I am the Host Today” was established in March 2017, and it was a cross-professional and interdisciplinary project participated by both teachers and students, and the team members are students of all grades and majors in the school, and it contains nearly 140 students. The team aims to supervise the students and teach them the production of foreign language program. Besides introducing foreign cultures in English, the students are telling Chinese stories and uttering Chinese voices based on Chinese traditional culture. Since the program was broadcast for the first time, the teachers and students have paid close attention to the program, and the team has published more than 220 programs through WeChat Official Account and on the Himalaya, and the volume of audience reaches nearly 100,000 persons. Through the unremitting efforts of teachers and students, the works of “I am the Host Today” has been recommended and selected by Shanghai Education System as excellent works of The third Session of Network Education in National Colleges and Universities held by Ministry of Education, that is, work cases of “New Words you Need to know after the 19^th National Congress of the CPC” and “I am the Host Today”.

The art is disseminated by words, while the feelings are expressed by voices. With the great support from the school and the School of Foreign Languages, the team of “I am the Host Today” arouses Patriotic Sentiment of students at home and abroad by publishing “Special Issue for the National Day”, so that the students can actually understand the great achievements that China has made. In the New Era, we will make new achievement while staying true to the mission with the sense of mission. The team of “I am the Host Today” will forge ahead, strive to present good works, and make their own contribution to the development and construction of China.
